I am in Chicago attending the NRA (National Restaurant Conference). This morning I went to a gardening Seminar. The woman from Chicago is the owner of two restaurants and has a rooftop garden. She grow arugula, tomatoes, lettuces, and other food for her establishments. She is connected with Growing Power in Milwakee, WI. She sends her greens to Growing Power to be composted. The gardener from Seattle showed great techniques for shading plants on rooftops. We can use something similar in Karen's Garden. I liked his approach. I might be something to look at USM.
The conference and the vendors are incredible - a real eye opener. Anything associated with food can be found at this conference. I will be attending a composting seminar tomorrow morning before returning to Milwaukee. Pictures and some video to follow.
