Ms.Jeffers and Ms. Kaifesh SK class is the newest partner to the EAT organization at USM. They were helpful in establishing the first "pumpkin drive" to benefit Karen's Garden. The pumpkins will be turned into coarse compost and eventually fed to the "red wiggler" worms to become "fine compost." The fine compost will be added to Karen's Garden and used in the future to grow sustainable, organic vegetables here at USM. Thanks to to Ms. Jeffers/Kaifesh and the SK students for making the posters and barrel signs seen below. The Pumpkin drive was a huge (over 300 pounds of pumpkins collected) success!
