You'll see a few pictures of the club members and Mr. Jacobs adding to the compost heap which is located behind the transportation barn. Each day the kitchen staff collects vegetable/fruit scraps from the Lower/Middle School dining room and places them in a few holding bins which are located in the dumpster coral outside of the kitchen entrance. Club members empty these holding bins onto the compost heap two times per week. Next week we plan on weighing the scraps prior to dumping them on the compost heap. This will give us a good idea of how much organic material we're composting on a weekly basis.

I like the blog that you set up Matt. Could we change the name to USM Environmental Action Team instead of "MS"? I will have to look over the information on the websites you added. Thanks for setting this up!
